"I'm kind of psychic. I have a fifth sense... it's like I have ESPN or something. My breasts can always tell when it's going to rain." First getting her start as a model growing up in Allentown, Pennsylvania, Amanda Seyfried landed a series of small-time modeling gigs and appeared in a handful of advertisements and book covers before she realized her heart was actually set on the stage. Switching gears and begging her parents for voice and acting lessons from a Broadway coach, the young Seyfried was well on her way to becoming a multi-talented star at only 13 years old. By the time she was 15, the blonde bombshell had already secured her first acting gig as Lucy on As the World Turns in 2000.
Continuing her soap opera stint with a year on All My Children, things changed for Seyfried in 2003 when she auditioned for Mean Girls only to see the parts of Regina George and Cady Heron go to Rachel McAdams and Lindsay Lohan. Obviously making a lasting impression on the producers, the young Seyfried didn't go home empty-handed as she was cast as the popular sidekick, Karen Smith, in what became a huge box office hit among teen audiences. With Mean Girls jumpstarting her career, Seyfried has spent the last decade padding her ever-growing $12 million net worth with films like Red Riding Hood, A Million Ways to Die in the West, Ted 2 and the highly anticipated Twin Peaks. Along the way, the 30-year-old has also proven her talents as a singer in Mamma Mia! while living a glamorous lifestyle earning a cool $1 million per year. And, while her salary pales in comparison to many of her costars, it's hard to pity the Pennsylvania native as she's living a bi-coastal lifestyle with a stunning condo in the Big Apple and a breathtaking mansion in sunny Los Angeles. Purchasing her first home in 2010 at only 24 years old, Seyfried was happy to call New York home when she forked over $2 million for her fourth floor apartment in Greenwich Village's iconic Devonshire House. Stretching over 1,500 square feet with two spacious bedrooms and a pair of bathrooms, the condo features a massive living room with a modern kitchen and adjacent dining room as well as a celebrity-sized walk-in closet. With the building originally constructed in 1928, the young star didn't think twice about renovating the condo to make it feel more like her own and spent several months executing her creative vision. For starters, Seyfried replaced the standard appliances with state-of-the-art equipment, transformed the existing living room into a home theater and installed a Jacuzzi in one of the two bathrooms. After everything was said and done, she then spent a small fortune on contemporary paintings and other details to truly make her New York pad feel more like home. As nice as her Devonshire condo truly is, it's undeniable that Seyfried's Los Angeles home definitely has a little more pizzazz thanks to its prime location in the ritzy Hollywood Hills. Built in a colonial style and offering a breath of fresh air with its surrounding lush greenery and meticulously maintained lawn, the California estate is drastically different from Seyfried's pad in the Big Apple but, believe it or, didn't cost the actress nearly as much! Spending around $1.85 million in 2011, Seyfried instantly fell in love with the house from its three bedrooms and three baths to its private screening room and formal dining room. With plenty of living space and an open floorplan, the interior of the home is definitely different from the ultra-modern NYC apartment and offers a more down-home feel with neutral tones, plush carpets and a slightly more dated decor.Dividing her time between the east and west coasts, Seyfried definitely prefers to travel by plane and we certainly can't blame her! However, when it comes to jaunting around town -be it Los Angeles or New York- she has an affinity for German cars and is frequently spotted cruising around in her Audi A4 after trading in her black Audi Q7. Aside from owning two lavish homes and occasionally splurging on the latest designer outfits and accessories to ensure her superstar status on the red carpet, the former Mean Girls star is actually very grounded and is exceptionally frugal when it comes to her spending. Since the beginning of her career, she has actively supported a number of charities and nonprofit organizations like March of Dimes, Believe in Dreams and Autism Speaks. And, apart from writing big checks, she's even used her fame in Hollywood to raise awareness about lesser known causes. With that being said, it's no wonder Vanity Fair praised her as 'Beautiful at Every Age' and 'Bright Young Hollywood' since she's obviously one of the silver screen's most compassionate young stars. Here's to paying it forward!
