Whether you know him as The Big Aristotle, The Real Deal, Shaq Daddy or The Big Shamrock, Shaquille Rashaun O’Neal is undeniably one of the most well-known and recognizable basketball stars in the NBA. Towering at 7’1” tall, O’Neal was drafted as the first pick from Louisiana State University by the Orlando Magic in the 1992 NBA draft and quickly rose to fame as one of the most talented centers on the hardwoods. Over the next two decades, the 325-pound New Jersey native became a four-time NBA champion, a three-time NBA Finals MVP and earned dozens of other awards with the Los Angeles Lakers, Miami Heat, Phoenix Suns, Cleveland Cavaliers and the Boston Celtics.

Joining the ranks of NBA elites like Michael Jordan and Charles Barkley, the former 1993 NBA Rookie of the Year retired his size 23 tennis shoes and turned his attention to the hot seat as an analyst for Inside the NBA in 2011. Having since launched his own podcast titled The Big Podcast with Shaq, the 44-year-old has accomplished quite a bit at such a young age, including amassing an impressive $350 million net worth thanks to his career both on and off the court. Dabbling in everything from music and acting to video games, mixed martial arts and professional wrestling, Shaq is known to be a savvy businessman and investor who has a keen eye for real estate.

Giving an entirely new meaning to the idea of living large, the Big Aristotle spends the majority of his time at his $250 million estate in the prestigious Isleworth community located just outside of Orlando, Florida. Nestled amid a tropical landscape, the 70,000 square foot oceanfront property boasts 11 bedrooms and 13 bathrooms as well as an indoor 20,000 square foot basketball court, a movie theater decorated from floor to ceiling in a Superman theme and a garage that houses a ridiculous number of vintage cars including the three Bentleys he purchased on a whim for $1 million in the late 1990s. Even the outdoor pool resembles a stunning beach resort and is affectionately known by the NBA giant as Shaqapulco.

With his house once featured on a 2006 episode of MTV’s Cribs, the world has long been aware of Shaq’s extravagant lifestyle and was shocked to learn that he purchased a more modest home 30 miles away in Mount Dora for $235,000 in 2013. Resembling a typical Florida house with five bedrooms, four bathrooms, a living room and a dining area, many wondered if Shaq planned to give the home to his longtime girlfriend, reality star Nikki “Hoopz” Alexander, or if it was simply another investment in his growing portfolio.

Most recently, Shaq turned heads once again when he took a huge bite out of the Peach State’s real estate market and purchased a country estate located half an hour outside of Atlanta, Georgia in McDonough for $1.15 million. Spending the last 15 years living part-time in a condo in Buckhead, Shaq was wowed by the impressive 14-acre property that includes two homes, a barn, workshop and a swimming pool.

A mixture of Georgian and French styles with a touch of Italian-Mediterranean architecture, the estate offers over 7,400 square feet of living space complete with Victorian-style furniture and cabinetry as well as wide windows and high ceilings (Shaq is over seven feet tall, after all!). The second house has three bedrooms and four baths while the main house, a brick-lined Traditional built in 2008, steals the show with a two-story foyer, five bedrooms and six baths, a state-of-art kitchen, a European-inspired dining room, a stunning living room with breathtaking views of the countryside and a home office that seems as big as the Oval Office. In the basement, there’s even a 12-seat theater, game room and gym to keep The Big Galactus entertained.

Moving outside where a lush landscape is marked by rolling hills and a dense forest that offers privacy and tranquility, Shaq’s massive swimming pool instantly grabs the attention of his guests as the focal point of the backyard with its gorgeous stone patio that ignites fond memories of summer pool parties, afternoon picnics and Fourth of July barbeques. Complete with a fountain and a neighboring cottage for guests, the only thing that has yet to be confirmed is whether or not the pool is actually deep enough to dunk the 7’1” tall legend.

As you can see from his expansive Georgia and Florida estates to his height and even his shoe size, Shaq proves that size does matter. Whether he’s handling business as a minority owner of the Sacramento Kings, overseeing development projects in his hometown of Newark, New Jersey or investing in companies like General Electric and Apple, the self-proclaimed and beloved Superman will always have a place to rest his head in style. And, after 19 successful years on the court as well as his dedication to furthering his business career and his incredible respect for others, he definitely deserves to live large.
