Gal Gadot is an Israeli-born actress and model. The beauty started making waves in Hollywood after her appearance in the Fast & Furious, and she’s been seemingly unstoppable ever since. Before we talk about her big screen ambitions and rapidly increasing popularity, let’s take a quick look at some of her earlier years.
Before becoming one of the hottest stars in Hollywood, Gadot was very active in the modeling circuit. In 2004, when she was just 18 years old, Gal won the Miss Israel competition and was well on her way to becoming miss universe in the following year. Though she did quite well, Gadot failed to secure the title and her pageant career came to an abrupt end. In 2005, the superstar-to-be decided to call it quits on her promising modeling career altogether, and went on to join the Israeli Army, instead.
Later interviews revealed that Gal excelled in the grueling three-month boot camp, and had a promising military career ahead – had she decided to pursue it. Though after completing two years of service, Gadot’s ambitions shifted yet again. Now set on becoming a lawyer, Gadot enrolled at a private research university in Herzlia, Israel, in order to pursue her studies.
After completing her first year, Gadot was approached by a casting director who asked her to audition for a “Bond girl” role in the 2008 Quantum of Solace. If you’ve seen the film, you already know that Gal didn’t make the cut, but the casting director took a liking to her and offered the young talent a number of further opportunities to make it to the big screen. After a few auditions, Gadot managed to secure the role of Gisele in the 2009 Fast & Furious – a movie that ultimately kickstarted her Hollywood career. As an aside, Gadot performed all of her own stunts, which – combined with her military knowledge of weapons – added a sense of authenticity to the blockbuster hit.
Since Gadot’s big screen debut, her acting career has been on the up and up. Her biggest gig to date involves portraying Diana Prince (Wonder Woman) in the superhero movies set in the DC Extended universe. She’s already appeared as Wonder Woman in Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice, and has at least 3 other movies lines up for the next couple of years.
Needless to say, her movie contracts make up a bulk of her rapidly growing net worth, but aside from her Hollywood earnings, Gadot rakes in a fair bit of change from sponsorship deals and ongoing modeling gigs. Since becoming an international sensation, Gadot has also become the face of Gucci’s Bamboo perfume brand, Huawei smartphones, and Miss Sixty – just to name a few. All in all, Gadot’s diverse income streams pooled to an impressive $3.5 million last year alone, bringing up her total net worth to approximately $13 million.
While $13 million is nothing to scoff at, this figure makes up only a fraction of Gadot’s total household net worth. The beauty tied the knot with Yaron Versano – a real estate developer, in 2008, who’s done quite well for himself despite the stock market crash of that same year. Versano recently sold his Tel Aviv hotel to Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich for a cool $28 million. Needless to say, the power couple is doing alright in the finance department, but unfortunately, when it comes to their spending habits, not much is publicly known.
Gadot and Versano have a 5 year old daughter, with their second child on its way. The actress recently announced her pregnancy on Instagram, and said that they’re busy remodeling and baby-proofing their home. Aside from that, the couple seems to live well within their means. They don’t often make the tabloids for purchasing an exotic car or a new villa, but rather for their simplicity and frugality.
In a recent interview Gadot explained that her current attitude towards spending stems from her modest adolescence:
"I was brought up in a very lovely, naive neighbourhood," Gadot says. "We didn't have cell phones. You would go in the afternoon to see friends, you'd just walk to their house and knock on the door and ask for a play date. We were all very active as kids.”
It seems that Gadot managed to hold on to these values well into her adult years, despite the pressures of hollywood and her tremendous wealth. While the superstar and her husband have more than enough money to splurge on virtually anything, the couple leads a very modest lifestyle, and doesn’t plan to “spoil” their kids.
Unfortunately, that’s about all of the publicly available information that we could dig up on the up-and-coming actress, considering that the stunner does a very good job at keeping her personal life outside of the media.
