Incredible Celebrity Homes

Better known on the hardwoods as “King James,” “The L Train” and “The Akron Hammer,” LeBron Raymone James was born on December 30, 1984 in Akron, Ohio where he rose to fame at the private St. Vincent-St. Mary High School as a future NBA superstar thanks to his impeccable skills on the court. Staying true to his ambitious nature, the 6’8” tall senior was drafted as the first overall pick in the 2003 NBA Draft by the Cleveland Cavaliers and went on to earn the Rookie of the Year Award becoming the youngest player to ever do so in NBA history. After leading the Cavs to their first NBA Finals appearance in 2007, the three-time NBA champion and 12-time NBA All Star joined the Miami Heat in 2010 only to return to his beloved home team in 2014 to help propel Cleveland to the top of the ranks of the NBA.

Now considered one of the most influential and popular athletes in basketball history among legends like Michael Jordan, James may have skipped the 2016 Rio Olympics but the three-time Olympian already has plenty of medals to his name after winning a bronze and two golds in the 2004 Athens, 2008 Beijing and 2012 London Games. So where does he keep his prized medals and the rest of his awards—in other words, where does he call home?

Earning $150 million in salary and another $300 million in endorsement deals with brands like Gatorade, Coca-Cola and McDonalds over the last decade, James was already a millionaire long before he ever played his first professional game. That’s right! At 18 years old, he was already bringing in seven figures, which is exactly what led the teenager and his high school sweetheart, Savannah Brinson, to build their $9.2 million dream home in the prestigious Bath Township community in Summit County, Ohio just down the road from his hometown.

Stretching across 30,000 square feet, the 19-room mansion boasts six bedrooms, eight full baths and six half baths as well as a master suite with a two-story master closet, which is more than enough room for James, Brinson and their three small children. Certainly fit for a king, the James estate has plenty to do for entertainment and relaxation (as you might expect from the NBA’s highest earning player) with an online casino, barbershop, pool table and sports bar in addition to an aquarium, two-lane bowling alley, private movie theater and more.

The exterior of the home is just as lavish as the inside with exquisite landscaping, a spacious patio, a massive pool and waterfall, a children’s play set and a custom basketball court for those quick pick-up games with all of James’ NBA friends. Of course, the benefits of living in the Bath Township neighborhood isn’t just James’ impressive estate and the huge jump in real estate value, it’s the increased safety from a higher police presence. In fact, James makes sure to take care of his neighbors especially with the increase in traffic from his fans, tourists and media by rewarding his neighbors’ patience with treats like gourmet cupcakes and personalized thank-you notes.

Aside from his extravagant Ohio mansion, James also purchased an estate in Miami’s affluent Coconut Grove community for $9 million as his home away from home while playing with the Heat. Overlooking Biscayne Bay with a two-fountain pool, the NBA star eventually sold his three-story mansion for a whopping $13.4 million in 2014 to make room for his next real estate purchase—a 9,350 square foot East Coast home in Los Angeles’ luxurious Brentwood district that set him back a cool $20.9 million.

Much like his Ohio and Miami estates, James’ stunning California home is also fit for a king with six bedrooms, multiple fireplaces, marble bathrooms, a state-of-the-art kitchen, an outdoor pool and luxury cabana. But why exactly does James need an abode in The Golden State? It only makes sense for the Cav’s #23 because the basketball star, Olympian and philanthropist recently added “actor” to his resume after making his first movie appearance in the 2015 film Trainwreck. In fact, rumors are already running wild that the glitz and glamour of Hollywood just might come calling again as he’s supposed to make a starring appearance in Space Jam 2. We’ll just have to wait and see!

Wherever he rests his head whether it’s in Ohio, Miami or California, it’s undeniable that James embodies the age-old cliché that when one door closes, another one opens. But, in his case, James has dozens of doors opening as opportunity continues to come knocking through endorsement deals, pay raises in the NBA, acting gigs and Olympic gold medals. Whatever the case, whether you love him or hate him, James sets a prime example of what it means to be ambitious especially when it comes to working through adversity and making the most of every opportunity that comes your way. No wonder they call him “King James!”
