If you ask someone in their late 20s or early 30s who they think the most beautiful actress of their lifetime is, there’s a good chance that they’re going to say Megan Fox. Though she hasn’t starred in as many films over the past few years as she once did, Fox is still a very popular name in Hollywood that’s had quite the career.
Fox spent much of her early life in Tennessee, where she was born on May 16, 1986. It was during this time that Fox wanted to be a dancer or an actress, and made her way down to Florida at 10 years old. When she entered her teenage years, Fox got into modeling where she started getting work pretty quickly. She even got a taste of film production at 15 years old, appearing in the Olsen twins DVD movie “Holiday in the Sun”.
With success in entertainment appearing imminent, Fox was able to take a test to finish high school early so that she could head to Los Angeles. It wasn’t long before Fox was picking up more acting roles, appearing on television shows such as “Two and a Half Men” and a more prominent role in “Hope & Faith”. Then, Fox had her biggest acting role to date when she played Mikaela Banes in the 2007 film “Transformers” opposite Shia LaBeouf.
Fox had been signed on to play the character in the next two films, but only appeared in one of the sequels. Fox was replaced for the third “Transformers” movie due to some things that she said about director Michael Bay. “He’s like Napoleon and wants to create this insane, infamous mad-man reputation,” she said. “He wants to be like Hitler on his sets, and he is. So he’s a nightmare to work for, but when you get him away from set and he’s not in director mode, I kind of really enjoy his personality because he’s so awkward, so hopelessly awkward. He has no social skills at all and it’s endearing to watch him.”
Bay reportedly said that the decision to replace Fox came from producer Steven Spielberg, though Spielberg himself has refuted the claim. Bay added that “I wasn’t hurt, because I know that’s just Megan. Megan loves to get a response, and she does it in kind of the wrong way.” Fox responded by saying “I got myself in this whole mess, but it doesn’t matter...I was waiting for someone to defend me, to say, ‘That’s not accurate,’ but nobody did.”
Fox would still land leading roles, appearing in films such as “Jennifer’s Body” and “Jonah Hex” after her time with “Transformers” had finished, though these films would end up being panned by critics. Throughout it all, Fox had been in a relationship with Brian Austin Green, and they started dating in 2004. After a couple of engagements that fell through, Fox and Green finally tied the knot in June 2010.
Fox and Green have had three sons born in 2012, 2014 and 2016, and it was announced in 2015 that the couple was divorcing and had separated. However, they would rekindle their relationship when it was announced that she was pregnant with her youngest child.
When talking about being a mother, Fox said that “I think you can never really anticipate how much sleep you’re going to lose. You’re not going to sleep for at least ten years. And people say that, but you can never prepare yourself….There’s zero time for you to have adult thoughts, so your brain kind of turns to scrambled eggs sometimes.”
Since starting her family, Fox has appeared in films such as “The Dictator” and “This is 40”. She would return to a more prominent role when she and Michael Bay were able to work out their problems with one another and she was cast as April O’Neil in the 2014 film “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” and the 2016 sequel. She also appeared on the series “New Girl” as well as the film “Zeroville”.
Fox will also be getting her own television series on the Travel Channel called “Mysteries and Myths with Megan Fox”. It’s a new turn for Fox as she’ll be hosting the documentary series that will have Fox discussing history through archaeology. If the series proves to be a hit, expect more seasons to arrive with the first season being given four episodes. “I’ve always just loved archaeology and Egyptology in general,” she said. “I want to be an adventurer. That’s what I would love to do with my life. I’m not exactly sure, I’ve just have been drawn to it.”
One reason that Fox wanted to branch out was because she said “I’m not going to be an actress forever. I’ve always known I have another calling.” There were rumors that Fox was going to be done with Hollywood, but everytime it seems that she’s on her way out, something keeps pulling her back in.
