Famous For Daughter of David Hasselhoff and Pamela Bach
Since the early 1980s, David Hasselhoff has been a global superstar. After he had finished his days of appearing in the soap opera “The Young and the Restless”, Hasselhoff would get his big break on the show “Knight Rider” during the middle part of the decade. Toward the end of the 1980s, Hasselhoff would take on the lead role on the series “Baywatch”, which became a huge hit in the United States, while really taking off around the world.
Hasselhoff has since starred in many films and television shows, including a slew of cameo appearances. Still, it’s “Baywatch” that many most associate Hasselhoff with. On that same show, Hasselhoff starred with Pamela Bach, and the two were married in December 1989. Six months later, on May 5, 1990, the couple would welcome their first daughter Taylor-Ann and in 1992 had another daughter named Hayley.
The world would be first introduced to Taylor-Ann in 1999 when she appeared on “Baywatch” with her father in a minor role, and would do so twice. In 2002, she’d make an appearance in a film starring her mother called “More Than Puppy Love”. Hasselhoff then spent much of her teenage years out of the spotlight and enjoying a more normal life, but then reality television would come calling.
Both Taylor-Ann and Hayley were tabbed to appear with their father in the reality series simply known as “The Hasselhoffs” on A&E. The series revolved around the patriarch of the family trying to help get his own career back on track, while launching the careers of both of his daughters. Unfortunately, the ride wouldn’t last long, as only around 715,000 people would watch the first episode, and only around 500,000 for the second. Because of that, the show was cancelled by A&E despite having already filmed several other episodes.
Later that year, Taylor-Ann would have a small role in two episodes of the soap opera that helped launch her father’s career, “The Young and the Restless”. She’s also appeared in the 2014 film “Sunken City”, and then again in the campy TV movie “Sharknado 4: The 4th Awakens” in 2016. For the most part, though, Taylor-Ann has been sticking to being herself while on television.
So far, the most notable appearance that Taylor-Ann has made has come on the show “Rich Kids of Beverly Hills”. The show, which aired on the E! Network, had been successful during its first two seasons. And added Hasselhoff for the third season, which premiered in May of 2015. Unlike some of the other main reality stars on the show, though, Hasselhoff would remain there for just one season.
Leading into her appearance on the show, Hasselhoff said “Finally, I was just like this is a great platform for me to show people my life and how I’m going into a completely new realm right now and that’s with my career, my singing, being a solo artist which is huge for me considering was with my sister for a few years (in a band called Bella Vida).”
Future plans for Hasselhoff include an acting career like her famous parents, and she also wants to dabble in music and entertainment. She would work with a short-lived beauty and fashion magazine called Bellus, and revealed that she wanted to continue to be an entrepreneur. According to Hasselhoff, her father has told her that “If this is something that you want to do, then you have to give it your 110 percent.”
Before getting more involved in reality television, Hasselhoff had moved a bit east to the University of Arizona, where she would major in communications. Knowing that she didn’t want a typical career path that most college students would have, Hasselhoff would drop out of school after two years, saying that it was more of herself trying to get a normal college experience that she would have missed out on otherwise.
Hasselhoff has said that she doesn’t think that her last name will detract her from success, forging her own path. “I feel that if people are interested in what I am doing, they are going to be fans of me personally,” she said. “Of course, because I have the last name, people are going to be interested in kind of exploring what I am doing. This is me and my craft and it’s definitely a cool place to be, even as the daughter of David Hasselhoff.”
Most of us in the United States know her father for being an actor, but he has also had success as a musician. Taylor-Ann wants that same kind of dual success, and has released a few songs during her young career. About her music career, Hasselhoff says that “I wanted to be different and inspire other artists to stay true to their art and their voice. We are here to make art and share stories with the world.”
Now 28 years old, Hasselhoff is still dabbling in many different forms of entertainment with the hopes that she’ll achieve the same type of fame that her parents have had. While she hasn’t reached that level yet, she’s gotten much more exposure than most of us could ever dream of, and still has time to decide what she’s best at.
